2009 BONNIE BRAE POLO CLASSIC SCHEDULED FOR JUNE 13
Make reservations now to feel like royalty enjoying upscale entertainment for the price of picnic lunch - or entertain clients or employees while engaging in friendly competition vying for the best hat, most original, elegant or best themed tent or best gourmet presentation. The Bonnie Brae Polo Classic provides an opportunity to do it all. Jim and Laura McDevitt are once again graciously opening their Fieldview Farm in Pittstown, NJ (located off Route 78 at exit 15) on June 13th (wet field condition date –June 14) to raise funds and awareness for Bonnie Brae. Bonnie Brae is a private, nonprofit accredited residential treatment and special education center serving boys, 8-17, who hail from New Jersey. The center strives to be “a haven where young men reclaim their potential through education and therapy.”
More than 3,000 “Kings and Queens” are expected to be on hand to watch the tenth anniversary polo match. Gates will open at NOON for tailgating. Pre-match activities start at 12:30 pm with the match beginning at 2:00 p.m. Opening and half-time ceremonies will feature classic cars and classic equestrian entertainment as well as a performance by Bonnie Brae’s own Knights Precision Drum Corp who have performed for President Obama at his inaugural parade. A raffle drawing for a choice of over 100 trip destinations will be held at the end of the match at approximately 5:00 p.m., followed by an awards ceremony and champagne toast to the teams.
Diamond and Platinum Horseshoe Sponsors will enjoy entrance to the VIP Champagne Tent listening to live jazz and noshing on mouthwatering hors d’oeuvres and sparkling wines, complements of Raritan Liquors and Peapack Fine Wines. The Vineyard Tent will offer Golden and Silver Horseshoe Patrons their own entertainment and delectables offered by Bourbon Street Wine & Spirits and Creative Catering. General Admission guests may bring their own picnic baskets and beverages, however Shoprite of Clinton will be on hand in the Polo Cuisine Tent to serve up a delicious selection of a la carte items. Other novelties include an equestrian art exhibit and awards tent, a classic motorcars display, and shops hosted by local artists and vendors including The Magic Shop and Sir Eqwine.
Fieldside tailgate spaces can be reserved for $200, $300, and $500 with corporate sponsorships starting at $1250, based upon location and amenities. Reservations must be completed by May 17th. General admission tickets are $10 per person (including parking) if purchased by June 12th. Children under 12 are free. The $10 pre-event tickets may be purchased by mail before May 13th, or from May 14th to June 12th at any of the following ticket locations: Bourbon Street Wines & Spirits in Califon, Clinton, Flemington, and Lebanon, Raritan Liquors in Bernardsville, Peapack Fine Wines in Peapack, The Country Store in Harding Township, and The Magic Shop in Oldwick.. On the day of the event, tickets may be purchased at the gate for $20 per person.
